Birther of a Nation, or Make the Bad Man Stop.
President Obama released his long form birth certificate today, and I would like to take this opportunity to tell my fellow libertarians, conservatives and conspiracy club members to please drop it. Notwithstanding The Smoking Gun’s provocative list of tin foil fodder, I am confident we can all put this ridiculous episode behind us.
At the risk of indulging the lunacy, allow me to point out a few things. August 4 was a Friday–Obama was born on a Friday night. It’s not at all unthinkable that the register was not available for Mrs. Dunham to sign until the following Monday (which she did) and it wasn’t filed until the following day. Is this really what you want to build your blogging base on–the efficiency of the Honolulu government in the early 1960s?
If this was kept in a bound volume, it’s pretty likely that 50 years would lead to some smudging, some pressing through or ink leakage from the pages above.
If you are inclined to be skeptical, suit yourself, but think about the following as you set your course. For the last 3 years, Obama has willfully withheld this document from the public–why? Do you think it takes this long to photoshop a document from the 1960′s? (Okay, it does if you’re Dan Rather, but unlike Dan Rather, Obama has people around him that know a blackberry isn’t a type a fruit.)
Obama has spent the last 3 years smearing every conservative by implication. So long as some where vocal about their “legitimate questions,” Obama was able to paint us all with the crazy brush and undermine the actual legitimate questions we all share about his policies. Indeed, his smirk today was due to the image boost this “revelation” will give him. If you’re looking for a reason why he didn’t release it until now, look no further.
Finally, what is the goal here? Asking questions is fine, but what is the purpose. Let’s suppose that, by some miracle, it was proven that Obama was not eligible for the Presidency. What then? He would be impeached or removed from office by legal action. Two things would come of that (1) a Constitutional crisis around every action the United States has taken over two and half years–every treaty, every contract, every order to our military, every tax refund–all put on hold or reversible; and (2) President Joe Biden. Do either of those 2 results portend a better or worse future for you?
It’s only a few more months (okay, 20, but who’s counting), and Obama will be removed from office the calm, rational way. My take home point then is, if you think Obama forged this, please take a vow of silence so that the rest of us can continue our work of taking back the country from our socialist overlords.

If you’re looking for some investigative meat for your conspiracy loving tummy, ask yourself, Why is Donald Trump, a mostly Democratic campaign contributor, trying to lead the GOP conversation into the dark recesses of the Honolulu hall of records? I smell a straw man conspiracy!
