Weiner Roast
It was a busy week off for me last week. Apparently the Disingenuous Gentlemen from Queens took to some unusual polling of his constituents. And then lied about it. Repeatedly.
Interesting voyeuristic stuff, no doubt, but what struck me is the abject hypocrisy of the Left. Even the day that Weiner admitted it was his pig in that particular poke, none other than Barbara Walters and Chris Matthews (he of the tingling leg) were blaming Weiner’s wife. Really?
Barbara Walters nearly pops a blood vessel trying desperately not to believe that a Congressman, named Weiner, from Queens, would send inappropriate photos to strangers online, only to find out a few hours later that Weiner was guilty. Has Barbara Walters ever even been to Queens? I lived in Weiner’s district for three years and can testify that appropriateness and sexual restraint are not the hallmarks of the neighborhood.
Matthews was even worse. His thesis is that Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin knew about the pictures and therefore was partly responsible. (This, by the way is another unfortunate name–glad she didn’t double barrel that to who’m I a bedding? Weener). Is this really the liberal standard of tolerance? If a wife knows about her husband’s indiscretions, she is responsible?
It really is amazing the lengths to which the liberal media will go to deny a Democrat’s failings. I know that liberals will be quick to point out how Hannity, Limbaugh or O’Reilly will jump to defend a Republican. But Walters and Matthews hold themselves out as objective journalists, not commentators. You can possibly fault Fox News for having commentary on the same channel as news, but at least when Fox anchors become commentators, they resign their post as journalists.
